An incomplete Roman copper alloy Colchester derivative, double lug, dating to c. 50 - 100 AD. The head of the brooch arches over the wings and narrows to form a lug which is perforated twice. The short wings survive to a width of 17.3mm. These may be incomplete as there are signs of ware at the ends. The wings are C-shaped in cross-section. The back of the wings, the spring, and pin are all missing. At either side of the bow where it joins the wings, there is a single ridge, and a further ridge at the tip of each end of the wings.
