A cast copper alloy hand held coin balance or tumbrel. It consists of a cast concave beam with a double square section collar at one end, beyond this is a zoomorphic head, possibly that of a dog. The head has a point along what would be the snout, either side of this are eyes. Behind the collar is a rounded section marked with a pattern of small triangles in curving lines. Above this is another collar, and then a rectangular section in which the balance arm is mounted. This too is decorated with the curving lines of shapes.
