An incomplete copper alloy cast button brooch dating from the Anglo Saxon period, AD410-1066. The brooch is dished and depicts a stylised raised face with a long nose, oval eyes and helmet design. The brooch is a dark brown colour with areas of the red copper colour showing through. The base of the hinge and catch remain but the pin is missing. The brooch has a dark green brown patina. The brooch's diameter is 16.63 mm, it is 2.89mm thick and weighs 3.35g.
