Lead medieval papal bulla of John XXII (1316-1334). The bulla has been folded in half to form a seal around a document cord, the detail of the obverse is obscured.There is a raised beaded border. The inscription shows IOHA/ NNES/ PP:XXII in three lines, there is a contraction mark above the PP in the form of a flattened omega. The PP is a shortened version of Pastor Pastorum, engl. Shepherd of the Shepherds. Another example of both sides of this bulla can be found on the database at NARC-1572E4

An early medieval cast copper alloy strap-end with silver rivets. The strap-end is roughly rectangular in plan with a very slight taper towards a softly rounded terminal. This takes the form of a stylised animal's head with incised half-moon eyes, above which are a pair of rounded ears in shallow relief, each one with a slight depression inside it. Two ring-and-dot motifs decorate the animal's forehead, between ears and eyes. Cast and moulded or stamped lead alloy pendant or amulet depicting the crucifixion on one side and a uncertain biblical scene on the other side. Probably late medieval or post-medieval and dating from the 15th-17th centuries. The crucifixion scene shows Christ dying on the cross inscribed INRI, with two mourning figures to the left and right, probably Mary and Mary Magdalene.

An incomplete cast copper-alloy buckle of medieval date, dating from c.AD 1350 - 1450. The buckle is a single loop oval/D-shape with a narrowed and offset strap bar. And the outer edge has a slightly boxed out triangular shaped tab in the centre with a cut notch for the now missing pin bar. The frame is very thin and patinated unevenly so is amottled dark brown colour with patches of bright green corrosion. This buckle is of ubiquitous type and a number have been reported to the PAS and are also illustrated by Egan and Pritchard (1991, 69-7, nos.277-283) and Whitehead (1996, 20-21.…

The dress hook has an oval plate, with a domed centre, and a trapezoidal, almost square attachment loop in the same plane as the oval plate. An incomplete, copper alloy, single-looped buckle dating to the period AD 1350-AD 1400. Buckle frame survives complete if somewhat bent: pin is missing. The buckle is oval or flattened 'D' shaped with a narrowed offset strap bar. On the opposing edge the buckle has two angled knops which flank a series of transverse ridges. The two innermost ridges flank a deep notch where the pin would have rested. The buckle has a dark green-brown coloured patina. Pipe tamper with seal matrix dating from the post-medieval period, ca. 17th to 18th century. 14mm oval seal. The object is in the form of a signet ring, with flat upper surface housing an oval bezel which forms the matrix. The matrix is engraved with the inverted initials EH with leaves or foliage above and below. The circular sectioned shaft has two collar mouldings either end andterminated in the flat circular tamper plate opposite the bezel.
