Cast lead alloy toy miniature horn book showing the alphabet, dating to the post medieval period (c.AD 1540-1700). The object is sub-rectangular in shape and is decorated with four lines of raised letters. The first line is prefixed by a +: ‘+ADCC / EOH / [][]APF / RSEL’. The letters are not in alphabetical order and a few appear to be repeated. The top line of letters is divided from the second line by two traverse lines, the third and fourth lines of letters are divided by a line of pellets. An unidentified lead object of sub rectangular shape, uniface, the lower unornamented and the upper side with three large raised domes arranged linearly. This object is very similar to LVPL-7D2BAD but is of lesser condition, this example having been flexed or twisted which has distorted the shape. Its purpose and age are unclear. THere are lighter points on the back of the object that may suggest the former presence of lugs. The object is a smooth grey colour, with brown patches.
