Circular lead alloy weight or possible gaming piece of probable post-medieval date (c. 1600-1800AD). The object is crudely decorated on one side with what appears to be a figure 8 covered with apparent random stab or peck marks.  The reverse of the object is plain.  There is some post-depositional damage on part of the upper edge of the object, which has a powdery white patina. A complete lead-alloy hanging weight dating from the Roman to Post Medieval period (43-1800 AD). In section the weight is broadly trapezoidal and is rectangular in plan. A hole has been punched through the apex to facilitate suspension. The sides of the object suggest that the lead has been folded into this shape rather than cast.  It has a powdery white patina. The object is a thick block of lead which is flat on the underside, apart from a central hollow, and uneven and slightly domed on the upper face.  There two circular holes through the main body of the weight, one near each end. Lead alloy weight probably from medieval or early post-medieval period (c1400-1600AD). The weight is circular in plan with moulded decoration comprising a quartered shield with a large pellet at the centre, surrounded by a double ring comprising two parallel lines within which is a band of small pellets. The reverse is plain and undecorated. The outer edge of the reverse is bevelled so that the diameter on the reverse of the object is smaller than the front face. The object weight is sub-conical in shape.  The bottom has a roughly hexagonal indentation in the base. At the top of the weight there is a broken iron shaft protruding from the centre.  Iron within a lead alloy weight often occurs with steel yard weights. A damaged Post Medieval copper-alloy trade weight of James I (1603-1625). The weight is circular in plan with a raised square-sectioned rim on the upper surface, tapering sides and a flat reverse. There are three verification marks - a crowned I, a sword, and a ewer. The reverse is heavily scored. There is a sub-circular hole that has been punched through the centre of the weight. Post medieval lead trade or pan weight c1550-1750AD. The weight is circular in plan and D-shaped in section. The upper, obverse, face is convex. At the centre of this upper face is stamped with a relief mark comprising a beaded circular boarder within which is a crown. Beneath the crown are traces of relief lettering that are illegible. The reverse is flat. The weight object is patinated with a light grey/white colour and exhibits numerous marks from post-depositional damage. Diameter: 41.6mm; thickness: 8.7mm; weight: 110g
