Copper alloy escutcheon in the form of a human head of possible Iron Age or Roman date (c.100BC to 100AD). The face has distinctive lentoid eyes and a simple nose, with a short straight cut line for the mouth. There are also faint traces of mould line suggesting a hairline across the forehead and down the sides of the face. The back of the object is flat. Prof Martin Henig (pers comm) suggests this may be an applique from a bucket or similar. See NCL-41DE75 for a similar example. Length: 21.79mm; width: 15.25mm; thickness: 15.05mm; weight: 16.9g

Unidentified copper alloy object of uncertain date. The object appears to to depict the eyes and snout of an animal. The back of the object is slightly hollow. The lentoid eyes lead to the suggestion that it could be the snout from a bulls head bucket mount dating from the Late Iron Age to Roman dating, circa 1st - century BC to 1st century AD.
