An incomplete copper-alloy swivelling fob seal with a rotating double sided seal matrix of Post-Medieval date, c. 1700-1800AD. Only part of the decorative frame survives.  This is flat and would have extended into an openwork handle. Traces of the scrollwork decoration can still be seen.  The arch of the frame extends around an oval seal matrix.  A rod passes through the centre of the seal matrix to swivel so that both faces could be used. An incomplete copper-alloy post-medieval candle snuffer or wick trimmer, missing most of its handles, dating AD c.1650-1780. The surviving elements consists of two plates connected by a hinge mechanism. The hinge is covered by a domed plate.  Projecting from one of plates is an open box.  From the other is a flat plate.  The handles are broken and missing. The objects had a dark green patina. An incomplete copper alloy brooch of Roman date (c80 -120AD) most likely a Colchester-derivative, Polden Hill type. Flanking the head are short wings that hold the spring mechanism. At the rear of the head is a concave slot that holds part of the pin, which has traces of decoration. The bow tapers towards the foot which is now missing. The catchplate spring and most of the pin are also missing. The brooch has a well-developed mottled green and brown coloured patina. A copper-alloy ring in the form of a snake, of possible Roman date. The ring has been made from a single strip of metal which has been wound to form the finished object, with the head overlapping the tail. The flat-sectioned ring flares from the tail to the head, and then tapers again to form the front of the face. The surfaces are corroded and pitted. See NARC-546DCC, LIN-EFCF67 and BH-890B3C on the database for similar examples. The front of the object is decorated with a series of lenticular and crescentric trefoils with cells for coloured enamel or glass. Traces of dark colbolt blue, pale blue and opaque red survive. Incomplete iron firing mechanism, complete with flint, most likely from a flintlock pistol of post medieval date (AD1600-1800). The fragment comprises the cock and the jaws for the flint. The flint is intact and is a dark grey colour measuring 27.8 x 24.7mm, with a maximum thickness of 6.8mm, it is held in position between the upper and lower jaw. The adjustable locking screw is heavily corroded.
