A Medieval copper alloy buckle with integral forked spacer, probably dating to c. AD 1300-1450. The buckle frame has a single oval loop, with a D-shaped cross section. The outer edge of the loop is expanded into a small point, with two prongs expanding from the opposite edge. A simple wire pin is wrapped around the frame in the space between the prongs. The plate is very broadly piriform in plan, with a rounded base, which narrows into a waisted section before expanding into a trilobed terminal. A Medieval to Post-Medieval copper alloy annular buckle with a central bar, probably dating to c. AD 1450-1600. The frame and bar are rectangualr in cross section, the outer edge of the frame is case into the form of a five-petaled rose. Dimensions: length 28.0mm; width 26.0mm; thickness 3.0mm; weight 5.71g. A similar buckle was excavated in Norwich in a context dated to AD 1561-1690 (Margeson 1993: 29, no. 157), however, they are often assumed to be earlier based on their decoration, cf. PUBLIC-655D05, HAMP-AD9215.
