An incomplete perforated cobble "mace head" or pebble hammer of probable Mesolithic to Neolithic date. The mace head is a well rounded oblong in plan, sub-rectangular in profile and sub-oval in cross-section. The perforation is positioned centrally, and was drilled from both faces, resulting in an hour-glass cross section. The perforation is 24.9mm in diameter at the opening, narrowing to c.14mm at the "waist" of the perforation.
