A Post-medieval copper alloy buckle, probably dating to c. AD 1500-1650. The frame is single-looped, sub-rectangular in plan and bevelled in cross section. The long arms of the frame are slightly concave, with the corners of the external edge rounded and a central knop projecting from the centre of the outer edge. The frame and bar are rectangualr in cross section, the outer edge of the frame is case into the form of a five-petaled rose. Dimensions: length 28.0mm; width 26.0mm; thickness 3.0mm; weight 5.71g. A similar buckle was excavated in Norwich in a context dated to AD 1561-1690 (Margeson 1993: 29, no. 157), however, they are often assumed to be earlier based on their decoration, cf.
