An Early medieval to Medieval copper alloy bit link probably dating to c. AD 1000-1100. The fitting consists of a bar of copper alloy, D-shaped in cross section, terminating in a plain oval loop on either end, the slightly smaller of the two preceded by a thick boss or collar, also D-shaped in cross section. The interior edges of the reverse of the loops are bevelled, the smaller loop shows considerable wear and the perforation of the larger loop is flanked by three grooves, positioned at right angles.
