A late early-medieval copper-alloy openwork stirrup-strap mount, dating to c. AD 1000-1100. The mount is broadly sub-triangular, 50.1 mm long and 30.3 mm wide at the maximum, with a rounded apex flanked by two extremely abraded knops. Just below the mid-point the plate of the mount narrows into a waist, 25.0 mm wide, with a small semicircular depression on each side. The mount is generally flat, c. 2.1 mm thick, but thicknening at the centre into a raised boss 3.4 mm thick, although due to its highly abraded surface little decoration is visible. The mount is stepped and broadly sub-pentagular in plan, with a slightly downward angled flange expanding from the base of the reverse. The flange has two circular perforations. The hoop has a flat cross section, although thickening at the shoulders where it becomes slightly trapezoidal, the external face being flat. A fragment of a copper alloy beaded or ribbed bracelet, probably Iron Age in date, c. 200 BC - AD 43. The bracelet is cast into the form of a continuous series of sub-ovate segments, each divided by a narrowed ridge or "waist". Although not regularly so, in general the segments of the bracelet become progressively smaller from one end to the other. The cross section of the bead at one end measures 7.5mm thick by 6.0mm wide and with the bead at the other measuring 6.9mm thick and 5.7mm wide.
