A Medieval to Post Medieval copper alloy vessel foot, probably dating to c. AD 1200-1700. The foot is sub-trapezoidal in cross section, with the front, broad, face cast into three parallel longitudinal ribs and a central longitudinal ridge on the reverse. The underside is slightly concave and shows signs of sooting. Dimensions: length 43.0mm; width 52.3mm; thickness 15.3mm; weight 106.23g This is an example of Butler, Green and Payne's type A, which they suggest was in use throughout the medieval period and into the 17th century.

A Late Bronze Age copper alloy tanged chisel, probably dating to c. 1150-800 BC. The chisel survives complete, although the tang has been damaged, and is now bent at 45 degrees to the plane. The tang is rectangular in cross section, tapering to a point in profile and with a sub-rectangular end in plan, with the remains of casting seems running down either lateral face, particularly prominent at the interstice with the collar. A Medieval to Post-Medieval open thimble or sewing ring, probably dating to c. AD 1400-1600. The thimble consists of a hoop of copper alloy, now flattened and with a large dent to the upper edge. The hoop comprises of a flat band with a series of shallowly hand-drilled sub-circular indentations aranged into a series of concentric circles. Dimensions: Length 26.4mm; width 8.3mm; thickness 13.8mm; weight 4.29g. cf. Holmes (1988: fig. 4), dated to c. AD 1500.

A Post-Medieval copper alloy rowel, probably dating to c. AD 1500-1700. The spur takes the form of a seven-pointed mullet in plan, with a central perforation and with an incised groove radiating from this to the insterstice of each point. Dimensions: Diameter 42.1mm; thickness 2.4mm; weight 11.41g. Similar rowels are illustrated by Read (1995: 127, nos. 805-806), which he suggests date to the eaely Post-Medieval period. cf. similar examples on this database, e.g. HAMP-A89734

A Post-Medieval copper alloy farthing of George I (AD 1714-1727), dating to 1720. Spink 3662. The coin was wrapped in a small fragment of cloth, now beige but with a circular area of green staining from contact with the copper alloy coin. The cloth is plain weave, and approximately 100 threads per inch. It weighs 0.72g.

An incomplete probable Post-Medieval copper alloy token, probably dating to c. AD 1600-1900. Corrosion has left one face completely illegible, whilst the other is unclear. A small portion of th insciption can be seen to read EXE, presumably Exeter, but the size of the lettering would suggest an inscription longer than those seen on 17th century trader's tokens.

The ring comprises of a plain hoop, shallowly plano-convex in cross-section and with a brazed join at one point on its circumference. The interior of the ring is inscribed 'RE GOD ONLY' in capitals; the beginning of the inscription appears to have been truncated by the join, suggesting that the ring was originally larger, and that it was resized. Withers & Withers (1995: 19) publish a similar example which they suggest was a weight for the gold noble.

A Post-Medieval ceramic rim sherd of a large North Devon gravel-tempered ware vessel, probably dating to c. AD 1600-1850+. A hard fired, oxideised fabric, orange in colour and containing an abundant course, angular quartz temper, c. <4.5mm. The interior surface is coated with a highly glossy brown glaze. A large open mouthed vessel with a flat, flanged, slighly overhanging rim. The sherd weighs in excess of 200g. There is evidence of sooting on the underside of the rim.

A Post-Medieval iron 'key-hole' type horseshoe, probably dating to c. AD 1600-1900. The object is U-shaped in plan and is slighly bevelled in cross section, its arms curve inwards slightly and end in rectangular terminals, with no calkins, creating a key-hole shaped aperture. There are no clear nail holes and the shoe may never have been used. Dimensions: Length 121.3mm; width 125.1mm; thickness 19.9mm; The object weighs in excess of 200g. cf. similar objects on this database, eg. LANCUM-094174, NMS-DD1715.

A Post-Medieval copper alloy composite button, probably dating to c. AD 1600-1800. The button is circular in plan and plano-convex in cross-section, potentially with a separate back plate suggested by a circumferencial seam. The shank is integral to the backplate and is sub-rectangular, with a drilled perforation. Although obscured by corrosion, the front of the button appears to be decorated with an incised motif comprising of a six-petalled compas flower. Dimensions: diameter 25.6mm; thickness 13.6mm; weight 10.2g. cf. Read (2005: 39) nos. 130-131.

A fragment of a Medieval copper alloy purse bar, probably dating to c. AD 1450-1500. The fragment comprises of one fragmentary arm only, with the circular sectioned arm projecting from the jaws of an incomplete zoomorphic moulding. Double-stranded niello-inlaid cross-hatched decoration survives at the terminal end of the arm, with an incomplete sub-rectangular attachment plate projecting from the arm, parallel to the length of the arm; one perforation survives.
