A Medieval copper alloy bucke plate, probably dating to c. AD 1200-1400. The buckle plate is sub-rectangular, comprising of copper alloy sheet cut into two oval lobes arranged longitudinally and divided by a transverse bar, with a second bar at the buckle end, with a smaller, plain rectangular back-plate connected by two rectangular arms which would have curved around the bar of the buckle. The buckle plate is perforated four times, twice on each lobe and with each retaining a separate copper alloy rivet. The backplate only reaches the intial rivets. The plate is undecorated.
