The lower part of the bow, foot of the brooch, catch plate, rearward facing hook, pin, spring, axis bar and both wing caps are all missing. The remains of the brooch consist of the head, wings, and upper part of the bow. The bow head is hump-like, and slightly angular (comma shaped) in profile.
