A post-medieval tinned (or high tin content alloy) copper alloy spherical 'crotal' bell (1650-1850), complete with corroded iron pea within. It weighs 7.56g and measures 22.9mm in height and has an approximate diameter of 17.8mm. A rectangular loop projects 6.4mm from the top of the bell. There are two holes on the upper hemisphere, one in front and one behind the loop. On the lower hemisphere there are two holes positioned below the central casting seam and perpendicular to those on the upper hemisphere.
