Possibly a fragment of a copper-alloy Roman sestertius of Trajan (AD 98-117), dating to the period c. AD 98-117 (Reece period 5). This coin has been clipped roughly into a quater. Unknown reverse type, but a circular shape near the edge of the coin can be identified, perhaps a shield or trophy. Reverse legend is missing of illegible. Obverse: head or bust right, due to clipping only the fringe and the top half of the face down to the tip of the nose is visible.
