Iron and copper-alloy padlock of Medieval to Post Medieval date, c. 1450-1700 The padlock is cylindrical in shape with a 'D' shaped locking arm of rectangular section. The outer surface of the cylindrical portion has worn away in places and has exposed the hollow centre of the lock. Inside can be seen the locking mechanism which is formed of a transverse bar across the centre and a vertical bolt portion. The surface of the padlock is heavily abraded. A cast iron 'bodkin' arrowhead of medieval date (c. 1250 - 1500). The arrowhead is formed of a triangular shaped blade which tapers to a point, and emerges from a cylindrical shaft. The blade is diamond shaped in cross section, and would have provided four cutting edges suggesting its use as an armour piercing arrow. The base of the arrowhead is broken on the shaft, which is not hollow but is formed of an iron core. One wing of the blade is broken towards the bottom where it attaches to the shaft.
