Complete Roman cast copper-alloy votive model axe. The miniature object features a shaft which bi-sects a wedge-shaped axe head. The width of the butt of the axe is thinner than the blade tip, which tapers out to form a widened and slightly curving blade edge. The butt is also thicker than the tip, which tapers to a point, forming a triangular shape when viewed in plan (from above).
The top of the shaft extends above the butt of the axe, and below the axe where it terminates in an old break. The shaft is sub-rectangular in cross section.
