A complete blue and white annular glass bead of probable Early Medieval dating (5th to 7th Centuries AD). The bead has been made from an opaque blue glass, with translucent white glass trails as decoration on the surface. It is circular in plan. It has convex sides, with the ends flattened, almost an oblate form. Slight pitting and chipping is present on the surface. The decorative pattern consists of apparently random swirling lines. The central piercing is quite large (8.9mm) and slightly off-centre. The bead has a diameter of 20.27mm, and is 8.49mm thick. It weighs 4g.
