Silver Venetian soldino of one of the Doges of Venice, Leonardo Loredan, issued from 1501-1521 in Venice, Type 9. Soldinos were known as the galyhalpens (galley-halfpence) as they were brought into the country by the annual Venetian trading fleets. The soldino was about the size of English halfpennies and was popular because of a contemporary lack of small change; soldini in fact occur as English finds more often than proper halfpennies of the period.

Silver shilling of Elizabeth I (1558-1603), Second issue (1560-1561), Mint mark cross crosslet (1560-1561). The obverse portrait is worn away but there does not appear to be a rose behind the head, nor a date on the reverse above the square shield. The edges are slightly torn, but the inscriptions are legible. Cf. Spink (2008) p.237, no.2555 for an illustration of the type.

Cut farthing of a silver long cross penny of Henry III (1207-1272), Long Cross coinage (1247-1272), probably from Classes I - IV, as the inscription on the obverse appears to begin at 12 o'clock. From Class V onwards the inscription begins at 10 o'clock. The legends are very worn, but the letters hEN are visible on the obverse and ONE, with the O ligatured with the N, on the reverse. This arrangement appears with the mints of Exeter, Oxford and York. The Exeter mint was active during the production of Classes IIa-IIIc, and Oxford and York were active during the production of Classes I…

Silver cut half of a short cross penny of John (1199-1216) or Henry III (1216-1272), dating from Class 5c (1207-1210) to Class 7a (1217-1222). The penny has been cut slightly off-centre, with the result that the only letters visible are L.ON. on the reverse. The most likely moneyer is therefore Abel who minted Class 5c-7a coins in London from c.1207-1222.
