A body sherd of possible Midlands Purple Ware dating to the Medieval to Post Medieval periods (c. AD 1400 - 1600). The sherd is sub-triangular in plan. The fabric is hard and reddish brown in colour with a darker purplish-grey slip on the exterior. The fabric contains frequent small white/yellow inclusions of varying sizes. There is some evidence of bubbling on the surface of the sherd. This sherd was part of a wheel thrown vessel and would have come from a large jar. The overall dimensions are as follows: 50.63mm in length, 56.15mm in width, 8.13mm in thickness and 30.55g in weight.

An incomplete cast copper alloy medieval buckle (c. AD 1100 - 1200), missing its frame so that only the plate and the rivets survive. The plate has been folded to form a front and back plate and a hinge. The front plate is triangular in plan. It has a moulded zoomorphic terminal at the narrow end. There are two rivets through the front plate, one of which is attached through the back plate. The backplate is smaller and broadly triangular in shape. An incomplete copper alloy strap end dating to the Early Medieval period (c. AD 750 to AD 1100). The strap end is sub-triangular in plan with slightly bulging sides and made up of two pieces of sheet copper alloy soldered together. There are two circular perforations at the straight end of the triangle and these go through both sheets of copper alloy. Below the perforations is a semi-circular curve with a half-diamond point within the curve pointing towards the perforations. An incomplete cast copper alloy possible harness pendant probably dating to the Medieval period (c. AD 1200 - 1314). The pendant is circular with the suspension loop missing. The central motif is a raised shield charged with a red enamelled cross pattee, around which is an inscription reading AVE MARIA GRACIA, "hail Mary full of grace". Traces of green and orange enamel are apparent around the shield and some of the lettering. The reverse is plain. An incomplete cast copper alloy strap end dated to the Mevieval period (c. AD 1250 - 1400). The strap end consists of two pieces of sheet copper alloy fastended together with a rivet at one end. The strap end is sub-rectangular in plan with a squared-off end where rivetted together and the opposite end finished with a rounded point. A rivet hole is also apparent at the pointed end but only on one face. The strap end has been bent slightly and the remains of the leather belt are still apparent between the two component pieces. No decoration is apparent owing to the state of corrosion. …
