A copper alloy die stamp, probably dating to the medieval period (c.AD1200-1400).
The object is bar shaped, rectangular in form and section with one face decorated. The relief decoration comprises deeply incised scrolling foliate motif, seemingly a vine, that moves along the rectangular face diagonally from edge to edge creating smaller triangular shaped voids each filled with a scroll. A complete copper alloy zoomorphic buckle dating to the later or sub Roman (early medieval) period (c.AD350-450)
The buckle is D shaped, the frame having a D shaped profile with flat reverse while the pin bar is rounded. The front edge of the buckle frame comprises of a pair of highly stylised facing dolphin heads, much worn and with little detail apparent, meeting to form a pin rest. A complete silver pedestal fob seal of Post Medieval date, c. AD 1600-1700.
Description: The matrix die is oval with an incused design. The pedestal has six facets with distinct divisions which taper to an integral quatrefoil suspension loop. The die face features an incised circular border surrounding a shield containing a chevron depicted as two parallel upwards pointed lines, surrounded by three cabossed stag’s heads, identified through their outward projecting ears and three-pronged antlers.

A silver post medieval vervel of Lewis Richardson Type A dating from c. AD 1550-1700.
Description: Consisting of a flat ring with rectangular cross-section and central perforation, the ring is undecorated except for an inscription on both sides. One side reads ‘+ AMBROS *’ with a looped first descender on the ‘A’, the other side reading ‘+ PVDSE *’. This name would be read as Ambrose Pudsey/Pudsay today. The vervel is complete, with no breaks in the ring and some slight scratches on both faces.

A complete copper alloy strap end of the early medieval period (AD750-950). The strap end is of Thomas' Class A, Type 1 with zoomorphic terminal and Trewhiddle style decoration.

An incomplete cast Roman copper alloy brooch of the dragonesque type dating from c. AD50-200.
The brooch comprises the 'S' shaped openwork plate, essentially the body of the brooch, missing both terminal heads and the pin. The openwork plate is shaped from a 'D' shaped frame forming the outline of the body, with two further strands of the frame scrolling outwards from the centre. The reverse of the brooch is flat. Unusually, the patina of the metal is black and lustrous, with occasional patches of bright green active copper corrosion.

Description: The artefact consists of a stamped sheet disc with a circular plan and down-turned flange.
