A cut fragment originating from a sestertius struck for Faustina I, dating to c. AD 161-175. Reece period 8. Reverse: uncertain due to wear and cutting of the coin. Mint of Rome.
This fragment consists c. 20% of the original flan, with the edges apparently having been hammered into a square shape before a neat truncation has removed this slice from one edge. The motivation for this action may have been votive in character, though this remains uncertain.
