The object is sub circular in form and rectangular in cross section. It consists of the lower half of a 'bag' shaped ampulla and is decorated on one side with rows of ridges which splay outwards towards the base. These represent a scallop shell. The object is circular in form and rectangular in cross section. It is decorated one one face with the portraits of SS Peter and Paul in beaded borders, with the inscription SPASPP above. The other face has the issuers name over three lines in a beaded border ALEX/ANDER/.PPIII. Issued by Pope Alexander III and dating to 1159-1181.

The object is rectangular in form and cross section and consists of a flat rectangular plate which is folded over the frame and secured with a single rivet in the centre of its far edge. This is decorated on one side with a 'saltaire' design of rocker work. The frame is rectangular in form and cross section and has an attached plain rectangular plate rolled over its outer edge and covering half of the upper part of the frame.

The button is circular in form and conical in cross section and has an integral circular cross sectioned loop emerging from the centre of its flat underside. The upper surface has a slight outer lip and is decorated with a raised cross running to the edge.
