Conical lead weight of uncertain date. The base is uneven and has an upwards-curled lip runnig around the circumference. Projecting from the top is an iron shank or loop, teminating in an old break and now heavily corroded. Weights can be difficult to date outside of a stratified context due to the fact that they are generally utilitarian objects and forms do not vary significantly over time. Incomplete Roman copper alloy Colchester derivative rearhook brooch of Mackreth's (2011) Type CD RH 3.k dating to the period c. AD 43 - 65. Most of the bow, the foot, catchplate and pin are missing. The wings are C-shaped; each exhibits a single wide groove flanked on either side by three vertical engraved lines. Projecting from the top of the head is the stub of the rearhook. Incomplete post medieval copper alloy dress hook of Read's Class E, Type 3 dating to the period c. AD 1500 - 1600. The circular plate exhibits an openwork design consisting of an equal armed cross with a central pellet and four circualr apertures in each quarter. The edge of the plate is beaded and engrailed, with a trapezoidal attachment loop projecting from one side and a tapering hook projecting from the other. The hook terminates in an old break. Incomplete lead alloy object, probably the butt of a toy firearm such as a petronel or pistol, dating to the period c. AD 1600 - 1700. Trapezoidal in shape, with an old diagonal break at the narrow end. The wider edge is moulded in a concave curve. It exhibits a ragged casting seam running around the three complete edges. Incomplete post medieval copper alloy spur dating to the period c. AD 1600 - 1700. The bar commences in an old break and is D-shaped in cross-section. It bends at an obtuse angle and terminates in a rounded terminal with three rivet holes for attachment to the boot. Bailey (2002) illustrates a similar spur terminal with an angled bar and three rivet holes on page 36, fig.17, which is dated from the 17th century.
