The coin is missing a small portion of its outer flan. Trade Tokens were produced during this period due to a severe lack of smaller denominations. Traders throughout the country produced such tokens to facilitate the purchase of goods and comestibles. The production of such tokens ceased in 1674 by Royal decree (EC).
