An incomplete copper alloy, hinged headed enamelled brooch of Roman date (AD 43-200). The now missing pin would have been hinged from the axis bar which is held within the transverse cylinder which is broadly circular in cross-section, forming the wings. The object is composed of a partially retained, circular suspension loop, set at 90 degrees to the body of the object. A complete copper alloy apothecary's weight of Post-Medieval date (AD 1618-1800). The weight is flat and sub-square with chamfered edges. Both faces are stamped with a traditional symbol (2 drachms) and a rose or star. The metal is a dark green in colour with a smooth patina. The presence of the rose/star indicates a date between 1618 to around the 18th century (Biggs 1992, p. 8). Length: 17.34mm, Width: 15.35mm, Thickness: 3.72mm, Weight: 7.1g.

The object consists of the terminal or attachment loopwhich is composed of of three conjoined circular lobes with pierced rounded perforations creating a trilobed form. The object is D-shaped in cross section with rounded corners, and a flat face. The outer face has a single incised saltire between the lobes. The reverse is flat and undecorated.
