A silver halfgroat of Henry VIII dating to the period AD 1533-1544. Second coinage. Initial mark: Catherine Wheel. North Vol 2, p.112 no.1804. Lombardic lettering both sides. Obverse description: Crowned bust right. Obverse inscription: HENRIC VIII D G R A REX. Rerverse description: Long cross fourchee over royal shield, TC beside shield. Reverse inscription: CIVITAS CANTOR. Mint of Canterbury under Archbishop Thomas Cranmer. Flan lightly clipped.
