Two grooves extend from the corners of the end of the arm of join in a point towards the centre of the arm, creating a triangular shape. A brass cross artefact of unidentified function, most likely of post-medieval date. The cross is a cross pattée and appears to have had straight, cylindrical protrusions extending from the end of each arm. The protrusions have snapped over the years, the longest remaining one being only 5-6mm in length. The cross has a design hand-carved into it which appears to be some sort of rose in the centre and a series of lines on each arm that converge towards the centre of the arms' terminations.

Object type: CLOTH SEAL
Broad period: POST MEDIEVAL
County: Lincolnshire
Workflow stage: Awaiting validation Find awaiting validation
Post-medieval two-disk cloth seal. One disk is a flat, circular surface. There doesn't appear to be any sort of design however it's unclear if this is due to wear. On the reverse is the remains of another face, presumably a second disk, joined in the centre to the other. The remains of a rampant lion can be seen (its lower body, hind legs and tail). Cloth seals were attached to the cloth as a means of identification and quality control by crown officials who assessed cloth the goods to ensure they were of appropriate quality for trade.

A complete copper-alloy heraldic stud mount of medieval date. The mount is shield-shaped in plan. The heraldic design has a bend running from the upper dexter corner of the shield to the lower sinister which has been divided into three by two parallel grooves. The reverse of the mount has an integrally cast shank which would be inserted into the leather harness strap.
