A complete post medieval copper alloy Nuremburg Jetton, dating around AD 1500-1570, Lion of St Mark/Orb type. Jetton is worn on both faces, and it is difficult to make out either legend or issuer. Obverse shows the Orb and cross. Legend: NEVN [] N []. The reverse shows the Lion of St Mark, although badly worn its feet are clear. Legend is present, but badly worn and not possible to make out. Robert Kenyon, following on from the work by the French scholars P-A. Besombes and M. Bompaire (in Trésors Monétaires XXI, 2005), is working through the British examples of Claudian coinage recorded through the PAS assigning many so-called Claudian contemporary copies to Roman auxiliary mints which operated at Lyons (Gaul) and in Spain. This example is a contemporary copy of those minted at the Lyon II, à la Petite Tête.

Complete copper alloy hooked clasp, AD 1550-1650. The hooked clasp is a single piece of metal that is convex. It is oval in shape with three loops arranged in a triangular pattern, two opposite and one at the apex of the oval. At the opposite apex between the two loops is the integrally cast hook, this is a rectangle of metal that has been back curved to clasp an eye on the opposite clasp. Complete silver plated copper alloy post medieval button, belonging to the Sussex Milita, around AD 1780-1820. There is some wear to the silver on the front around the edge. The front of the button shows a Garter star, formed of an 8 point star encircling the word SUSSEX, which in turn encloses a cross. The rear has no silver plating remaining, except around where the button loop was attached (Now missing), and shows a legend, although some is worn away. Legend: * S FIRMIN * STRAND.
