A broadly rectangular piece of white sheet metal with uniface design and three mounting holes at one end. The piece measures , and unevenly, approximately 32mm by 26 mm. One end of the rectangle is formed by a triangle with the three mounting holes at each of its corners. The holes are each at the centre of a curved scroll shape in the worked design. The design is a quite elaborate series of those scrolls with small dots defining their contours. Medieval silver penny of Edward I dating to AD 1283 to 1286. Edwardian class 4c, minted at Canterbury. North (1991:29) no.1025.
The coin has a noticeable crease running from approximately 10 o'clock to 4 o'clock completely across the obverse bust just below the crown.

A post-medieval copper-alloy Irish 'gun money' halfcrown of James II (1685-1688), dated July 1690 (on coin) (Seaby 6580). Mint of Dublin or Limerick. Seaby (2003, 169-170).
It measures 28.17 mm in diameter, is 2 mm thick, and weighs 10.03 g. The coin survives in relatively good condition, though the obverse is rather worn
Some parts of the patina have started to flake away leaving a whiteish-grey scar in their place. These are visible particularly at one to two o'clock (seen on the obverse) and six o'clock (on the reverse).
