A fragment of a Roman, ceramic bowl, samian ware, AD.50-150. The object comprises a fragment of a Roman bowl/cup of Dragendorf forms 27, 32 or 40. The fragment has an orange/red slip over a pale orange fabric there are no obvious inclusions.

A collection of three ceramic vessel sherds, predominantly Roman or Medieval in date AD.43-1200. The largest is a fragment of Roman flint and grog tempered local ware. The third piece is a fragment of a rim from a jar. The rim appears to be set horizontally and at an acute angle to the vessel wall below. This has an orange/brown fabric with sand inculsions. There is also a fragment of a medieval vessel handle with raised side rim and impressed rectangular stamps, with an oblique entry angle running parallel. AD.1150-1200. The exterior is oxidised red with a dark grey core.

A fragment of Roman ceramic sandy grey ware, probably East Sussex Ware, AD c.50-410. The object comprises a sherd of the rim of the vessel; the rim is at a right angle and has a flattened top. The rim is rounded and concave on the underside. The wall of the vessel curves outwards. There are striations on the underside of the rim and on the top of the rim, from where the clay may have been wiped down during production on a wheel. There are fine sandy inclusions in the fabric which is whitish in shade on all but the dark grey/black exterior surface.

A fragment of a ceramic vessel of Roman date, 3rd-4th century, Oxford colour coated ware, indented beaker with applique figures. The object comprises a cermaic roundel in the form of a classical woman's head, turned slightly to look right (her left). Her hair is up and she has a garment on visible at the neckline. The roundel has been applied to the vessel wall, only part of which remains, attached to the back of it. The fabric is a pinkish orange earthen ware, with no visible inclusions. A piece of ceramic building material, brick, probably used as kiln furniture, AD.1500-1700. The brick is covered in a transparent green glaze but is off an irregular shape suggesting it was not intentionally glazed. It is likely it was used as a spacer for a kiln and has been glazed by contact with the ceramics.

A fragment of a Medieval, 15th century, bunghole pitcher, AD.1400-1500. The fragment comprises a sub-circular sherd of pot with a central hole that has been pierced through. This is likely the bunghole from the pitcher, there are the remnants of the finger indentations made around the spout. The sherd appears to have been rounded off, probably to make the piece into a spindle whorl. The fabric of the object is creamy-white with fine sand inclusions. Two fragments of post-medieval ceramic vessels, dating to the period c.1600-1700. Both fragments have a dark red oxidised fabric and a pale green/yellow glaze on their interior surface. The smaller fragment is roughly rectangular in plan and has a darker,near black, glaze. Green-glazed oxidised wares were common in the 17th century, with one of the larger industries being Surrey/Hampshire Border Ware.

A fragment of a Roman ceramic vessel, a local sandy grey ware, dating to the period AD c.43-410. The fabric is pale grey in colour, with sand tempering. The piece is from the base of a jar; it retains a piece of the base with a foot ring flange which then rises up to form the wall of the vessel.
