An incomplete, copper alloy, Roman bow brooch, Colchester derivative, double pierced lug, Harlow type, AD.40-100. The object comprises, the head, bow and catch plate of the brooch. The spring and pin have been lost. The head of the brooch is quite corroded but preserves the loop on the head for the spring and the wings. Running from the head down the bow is a ridge decorated with an incised zig-zag. On either side of the ridge is a concave gully that runs down the length of the bow. The catch plate remains in tact, though, is covered in iron corrosion.

A complete, modern, steel and plastic, discoidal plate badge, AD.2017. The badge comprises a doubled metallic ferrous disc with an outer plastic coating on the front face. The reverse of the object is slightly concave with a raised edge. There are two circular holes in the reverse plate at opposed sides of the disc. Through these holes emerge the sprung pin and the catchplate, which is formed of a looped wire. The pin is not attached to the front plate of the badge and is, instead free moving between the two plates. There is a maker's mark stamped on to the rear of the badge 'Camaloon…
