An incomplete, post medieval, lead and iron, toy pistol, AD.1600-1750. The object comprises the firing mechanism, stock and barrel of a toy gun. It is primarily cast in lead or a lead alloy with some iron parts for the mechanism. The stock has a flat butt and tapers up towards the mechanism and the barrel. Both sides of the stock are decorated with foliate design. The trigger has been lost. The mechanism is attached to the stock on the left side of the gun by three iron screws. An incomplete, early medieval, copper alloy, strap end, with silver foil, AD.750-1000. The object comprises a rectangular copper alloy plate, the distal end of which is tapered to a rounded point. The top of the strap end is damaged and originally would have had a central rivet hole, of which only a part remains. The front face is decorated with intertwined beasts and would originally have had a silver coating. The object is flat with the design and legend impressed in reverse on to the front face. The centrsl design appears to have been a cruciform of pointed oval petals with an incised line separating them, only 2 are clearly visible now.
