A copper alloy trade token of post medieval date. The obverse shows a horseshoe, with a circumferential legend no longer legible. The reverse is corroded but appears to show two columns, possibly initials I I, with what may be a rose between them. The combination of horseshoe and monogram is found on several tokens described on this database (examples: LON-B856E2, HESH-B5D71D) and is generally dated to the 17th century. This could be a blacksmith token or some trade associated with horses. Diameter 20 mm, wieght 0.9 g

A silver post-medieval half-groat of Henry VIII (1509 - 1547). Third coinage (North 1852), minted in Canterbury, 1544 - 1547. This coin has patches of copper corrosion product on both faces suggesting that the coin might be silver plated or contain less precious metal than it should, indicating that this might be a counterfeit.

An incomplete copper alloy Roman T-shaped brooch dating to AD c. 50 - c. 150. The pin, spring and much of the catchplate are missing. There is a deep slot between the cylindrical wings. The tapering bow has a vertical groove which may have contained enamel. Similar brooches are illustrated in Hattatt (2000, Fig 161) Overall length 33 mm, width 27.5 mm, thickness 12.6. Width of bow 6.6 mm at head, tapering to 1.9 mm at foot. Weight 7.4 g.

A copper alloy spoon of probable post medieval date (1500-1750). The spoon has been been bent double. One end is spatulate, probably originally with a rounded terminal but now missing the tip. The bowl is an elongated oval, quite shallow. The stem is flat, and above the bowl there are linear ridges which may be decorative; however the surface is corroded and has a green patina. A complete copper alloy thimble of probable post-medieval date (c. 1500 - 1650). The thimble is domed with sloping sides , the holes are aranged in an irregular spiral, leaving no tonsure at the top. There is no obvious makers mark. There is no turned down rim at the base, there are two small notches on opposite sides, this may indicate the thimble was finished on a lathe. One surface is decorated with raised pellets arranged concentrically, ten in one circle, sixteen in the outer. The other surface has raised hatching. A copper alloy post-medieval trade token issued by Francis French of Bawtry, dating to the 17th century. The token is octagonal in shape. The obverse inscription reads FRANCIS FRENCH OF BAWTRY with HIS / HALF / PENY in the centre. The reverse inscription is worn but should read IN YORKSHEERE APOTHYCARY and shows a shield device with the apothecaries' arms. One edge of the token is slightly bent. Diameter 19 mm Weight 1.4 g Trade tokens were issued between 1648 and 1673 at a time when there was little low denomination coinage being issued by the crown.

A cast lead alloy spindle-whorl, probably of medieval date. The object is bi-conical with a broad circumferential rim. Both surfaces are decorated with moulding: Four large pellets or knobs, between each is a cruciform shape having pellets at the end of each arm. There is a linear dent running across one surface.
