A complete Early Medieval to Post Medieval copper alloy buckle possibly dating from AD 950-1650. The buckle is cast. The buckle is a double looped oval shape with a pointed zoomorphic terminal, probably a birds head. The terminal is crude and in the form of a forward facing animal head. The reverse is flat and undecorated. The frame is cast from a lead alloy and has an incomplete iron spiked loop chape. The frame has a beaded edge on both the inner and outer edge and is decorated with 6 parallel incised lines running its length. An incomplete Medieval buckle with a copper-alloy folded sheet buckle plate, dating to mid 14th-15th century. The buckle frame is broken and the pin is missing. The plate has two rivets and at one end a slot for the buckle pin. The plate consists of a sheet copper that has been folded around the axial bar which connects the plate to the buckle. There is a notch removed from the plate to allow the pin to be folded around the axial bar. A Post Medieval silver shoe buckle dating from the 18th century. The buckle frame is circular in plan and convex in top and concave on the reverse. The frame is notched where a silver pin is attached. On the reverse is a makers stamp consisting of the letters CP. It is not possible to securely date it to pre 1722 and as such it falls outside the provisions of the Treasure Act 1996. An incomplete Medieval double-looped oval buckle (AD 1300-1500). The buckle has a double-loop frame that has been cast with a D-shaped section and a flat back. Each oval loop has a wide outer edge, decorated in the centre point with three radiating incisions that serve both as decoration and as the pin-rest. An incomplete Medieval lead alloy buckle dating to the early 15th century. The remaining buckle consists of part of the frame and integral buckle plate. The buckle plate and frame are decorated on the front surface with a cast pattern comprising raised relief, there are vertical bands on the plate with a zig-zag decoration with motifs in angles. The buckle consists of a oval frame with a notch for the pin to rest on. The plate is rectangular with a slot for the pin and two rivet holes. The buckle is decorated with a double line of opposing punched triangles following the perimeter of the inside edge. The buckle would have had a copper alloy pin now missing.
