A copper alloy Roman mount or furniture fitting dating AD43-410. The mount has the face of a bearded man, possible Pan. A similar mount is in Crummy (1995:118 fig.3222). Crummy writes "Stud with the head of Pan, similar to a stud from Haltern (Albrecht 1943, Abb 2 1 , i) and one of Silenus from Verulamium (St Albans, Hertfordshire) (Waugh and Goodburn 1972, pl 38, e). An incomplete Post Medieval lead alloy Colchester Dutch community cloth seal dated AD 1571. The obverse of the seal has the date 1571 with 15 to the left and 71 to the right of an ornate shield with a larger lower crown and an upper right smaller crown.
