A Post Medieval silver gilt single sharp-hooked tag dating from the sixteenth century. This a Read Class D, Type 6. The hood tag is a scalloped edged trefoil shaped in plan with three domed bosses decorated with filigree rope twist wire. Each boss has a large annulet encircling a trefoil of smaller annulets. In the centre of the tag is a perforation where a central element would have attached this is now missing. An incomplete Roman ceramic beaker possibly from Thames estuary production site dating from AD 150-400. The vessel is similar in form to 'poppy-head' beakers. The vessel is poppy head shaped with an shallow everted rim which turns outward from the body, the vessel has a round raised foot-ring. The beaker has an orange fabric, and is decorated with four groups of white slip dots, which are arranged in four diagonal rows. Interim information on the hoard for the PAS & Treasure Annual Report launches in March 2020: This hoard comprises a copper alloy bowl, the fittings from a copper alloy bucket, and part of a clay pot. Buckets such as this one are usually found in high-status cremation graves from the mid-first century BC, alongside other pots, jugs and pans. These were drinking sets, used for serving mead, wine or beer at feasts. Perhaps the deceased hosted such feasts in life, or maybe this was a way for the living to share the funeral feast with them. A Roman copper alloy handle terminal for a patera dating from AD 100-200. The terminal is in the form of a rams head.
