An incomplete lid from a Post Medieval Surrey Hampshire border ware, 'encrusted ware' vessel dating from the AD1620-1650. Similar lids are illustrated in Haslam (1975:177 fig.7, No.64-65) and were excavated from the pottery site at Cove, east Hampshire and are dated to second quarter of the 17th century and Pearce (1992: 65 fig.36 No.276 G) illustrates a similar lid missing its knop.The lid is made from a buff fabric and is convex with a central knop (now missing) and is covered in a green glaze on the upper surface with chippings of crushed flint impre…

A Post Medieval ceramic sherd from a Raeren stoneware bottle dating to AD 1517-1585. The sherd represents part of the body with a large round medallion featuring a male bearded portrait  within a plain  border, this is then framed with the legend [BI.MICH.BALDEM.ME]NN[ICKEM].
