A cast lead, or lead alloy, spindle whorl of Roman to Post Medieval date (AD1 - 1650). In plan the spindle whorl is sub-circular. There is a circular perforation which is 8.9 mm diameter which is located in the centre of the whorl. Both faces of the object are very worn so it is difficult to establish if there was originally any decoration. The surfaces of the spindle whorl are a light cream colour.
