Roman copper alloy Colchester derivative, hinged brooch, dating to AD 55-100. 32mm in length, 34mm wide and 17mm thick with a weight of 23.3grams.
The brooch has circular cross sectioned solid wings, which are decorated with three rounded ridges on each arm. They house a hinged pin, now incomplete. The bow is sub rectangular in cross section and has a semi-circular projection which 'wraps' around the centre of the wings. The bow is plain and incomplete.
