Post Medieval copper alloy trade weight, 40mm in diameter, 4mm thick and weighing 50.57grams.
The weight is circular in form and rectangular in cross section, with a raised upper lip. It is a standard London trade weight, stamped with the letter A, sword and ewer. It also has a faint crest with three oval shaped motifs?
The weight has then been stamped in three places with a stamp consisting of the letters LEICESTER forming an open circle, with Co in the centre. The lettering appears to be Georgian/Victorian and suggests the weight has been re-cycled and re-issued for local use?

Early Medieval (Scandinavian) lead alloy gaming piece dating from AD 850-1100, 20mm in length, 17mm in diameter with a weight of 15.98grams.
The object is sub rectangular in form and circular in cross section. It has three slight rounded ridges running up its sides, which terminate in tapering rounded projections on its domed upper surface, which 'lean' in towards each other. It has a hollow underside and its walls are 2mm thick.
