A cast copper alloy double-loop trapezoidal spur buckle frame with triangular ends, bevelled outside edges and semi-circular lobed protrusions at each end of the central strap bar. The buckle is slightly bent in profile. There is some iron corrosion on the strap bar which may be the remains of an iron pin. The frame shows signs of corrosion and has dark patches of lacquer which was coated on to protect the copper alloy from corrosion.
Whitehead (2003) illustrates an identical spur buckle on page 73, no.513, which is dated from c.1620-1680.
