Cast copper alloy Medieval to early Post-Medieval circular buckle frame with slightly narrowed central bar and missing pin. Frame is roughly semi-circular in cross-section, and bar is sub-trapezoidal. There is no decoration, but there are substantial filing marks as evidence of post-casting fettling. The buckle has a grey patina. A close parallel can be seen at PUBLIC-26C7AF. Circa 1350-1650 AD.

Incomplete copper alloy oval buckle frame of medieval date. The bar, pin and half of one side are missing from an old break. Moulded thickened outside edge, with outward facing 'horn' at both extremes and moulded raised collars either side of a central pin-rest groove. The reverse is flat. A more complete example of the type can be seen at NLM-ABBDA6. Circa 1250-1400 AD.
