A post-medieval copper alloy hooked clasp, probably dating to c. AD 1600-1700. The hook section of a two-part hooked clasp. The object has an oval plate with a flat back. From one side expands the stub of the flat, rectangular hook There are three integral perforated lugs, two flanking the remnant of the hook and one at the opposite end. The front of the plate is cast in low relief with a depiction of the Commonwealth arms. The rear is flat and undecorated. A cast copper alloy sword belt fitting of post-medieval date. The fitting is elongated with a convex front and hollow back. It comprises a central oval element flanked by transverse collars, with a knop at one end and a backwards curving hook at the other. An incomplete copper alloy double looped buckle dating to the period AD c. 1350 to c. 1650. One loop , the centre bar and the pin remaining. The tapering pin is complete and is attached centre bar. It has a D-Shaped cross section. The centre bar is narrowed from the frame and has a trapeziodal cross section. The loops are D shaped and the frame is convex at the front and flat at the rear with slightly bevelled inner edges. Length: 24.05 mm, Width: 24.42 mm, Thickness: 1.96 mm and Weight: 3 g. An incomplete Early Post-Medieval double-oval copper alloy buckle frame. Half of the frame and the centre bar remain, and it is also missing its pin. On the remaining loop there is a moulded rosette on the outer edge and at either side of the centre bar there is a pointed knop. The bar is narrowed from the frame and is trapezoidal in cross section. Height : 21.27 mm, Width: 28.38 mm, Thickness: 2.49 mm and Weight: 3.47 g. The internal loops are c.12.91 x 22.44 mm A similar buckle is recorded in Whitehead 1996 Buckles 1250 - 1800 p.66 no.407. Whitehead dates this to c.1550-1650.

A probably cast, domed thimble. The small, circular indentations have been hand stamped in a spiral. There is no tonsure on the top. The walls are quite thick. Date: Post Medieval - 1500 - 1650 Height : 19.54 mm, Diameter: 18.49 mm and Thickness: 0.85 mm. Weight: 6.23 g This is similar in shape to an example in Edwin F Holmes datasheet "Sewing Thimbles" FRG Datasheet 9, page 1, Fig. 2 a. The spiral indentations suggest a date of the 16th to mid 17th centuries.

Whitehead (1996) Buckles 1250 to 1800 illustrates a similar oval buckle with an angled frame on page 55, No.318, which is dated from c.1500-1650. Post Medieval copper alloy double loop 'spectacle' buckle There are traces of black lacquer on the surfaces. The two loops are oval with expanded outer edges. Both loops have been bent forwards. The pin is missing. The centre bar is narrowed from the frame and trapezoidal in cross section. There is a knop at either end of the bar. This buckle is Post Medieval and likely to date from c. 1550-1650. The length is 30.65 mm, the width is 17.46 mm, the thickness is 2.53 mm and the weight 2.87 g. For a similar buckle see Whitehead (1996) Buckles 1250 to1800, number 304 for comparison.
