A complete cast copper alloy looped strap mount (Nicolay Type B) of Roman date (c. AD 43-300). Description: The strap mount consists of a rectangular bar, circular in cross section which is integrally cast to a lipped box. The box is hollow, rectangular in profile and sub-triangular in cross-section with four raised ridges along its top. Its base extends into a down-tuned lip, the bar extending from its short sides.
