A near complete copper-alloy casket key, probably of Medieval date (AD 1100 - 1500). Description: The key is small with a projecting stem ovate in cross-section. the stem however has been worn down to the point it terminates prior to the outer section of the bit. A flat bit projects from the underside of the stem at 90 degrees and has one rounded cleft in its outermost edge and stepped outer ward. A roughly circular bow loop forms the upper terminal.
