A complete but warped, cast, gold, inscribed, finger-ring or 'posie' dating to the 16th or 17th centuries.
Description: The hoop is circular in plan, and is worn and crushed. The external circumference is decorated with a continuous, moulded relief which is difficult to discern due to damage, but has the appearance of a scrolling, foliate, pattern. The inscription, which runs around the internal circumferences, is in uppercase and reads 'VIVE . VT . VIVAS'. The inscription translates literally to "live that you may live" and is given to confer the sentiment: "live life to the fulle…

An incomplete milled gold Post-Medieval Portuguese 4000 reis or 'moidore' João V (1706-1750). Minted at the Brazilian mint of Bahia, in the city of Salvador and dated '1723'. The coin has been damaged after deposition with the flan missing from 6-11 o'clock.

An incomplete stamped gold Roman apotropaic amulet, possibly dating to the 2nd century AD.
Description: The amulet is formed from two stamped gold foil discs folded together the apex has a small tear likely where the amulet's now missing suspension loop was placed. The discs have been embossed in a repoussé style. A complete, gold, posie ring dating to the Post Medieval Period (AD1500-1625).
Description: The band is formed of a flat strip of gold. Running the circumference of the band, on both upper and lower edges are three, plain mouldings, which each increase in height and diameter towards the edge causing a slightly concave external surface in cross-section. A slightly worn and abraded Post-Medieval gold and niello/enamel 'memento mori' type mourning-ring, likely dating soon after 23rd of June 1668 and commemorating Mrs. Jane Brodnax.
Description: The finger ring has is a simple loop with a D-shaped cross-section and a decorative engraved skull in 3/4 profile left. There is only a small surviving trace of the black enamel or niello that would have decorated the skull, mostly around the back of the skull. A medieval gold finger-ring dating to the c.14th century.
Description: The oval bezel is conical in profile, and is formed of two sections: the base is in the 'pie-dish' style with crimped edge, and the collect or upper section is concave in profile. The bezel is empty and missing its original setting but filled with chalky soil. The hoop is slender and widens at the shoulders where it is soldered to the bezel. Barring the missing setting the ring is in generally good condition.

A facetted gold ring of late Medieval to Post-Medieval date.
Description: The loop is formed from 12 pointed moulded oval segments or petals aligned diagonally to the loop and abutting each other on their sides. The pointed ovals alternate hatched lines in raised rim and incised lines in one plain within raised rim. It is possible this isn't direct decoration but the adhering surface for enamel which is now missing. Despite these elements missing any possible enamel the ring remains in good condition

A complete gold posie/posey Finger Ring of Post-Medieval date, c.17th century.
Description: The ring has an evenly well-formed band, D-shaped cross section. The interior circumference has an incised inscription typical of the type, in lower case lettering although not cursive, it reads 'Live in love and fear the lord' Followed by the letter 'S' over 'R G'. The exterior surface of the ring is undecorated with only minor abrasions caused by post-depositional processes.
Measurements: 22.94mm in diameter, 6.36mm thick (band 2.42mm thick) and 10.95g in weight.

Description: The ring has a simple undecorated band D-shaped cross-section which rises from the shoulders into a pointed triangular (in plan) bezel. The bezel is set with a dark strongly coloured and semi-transparent green irregularly shaped cabochon, certainly either an emerald or high-quality green beryl.
